About Englert Music Studio

Since the age of 3, Carolyn Englert has been in love with music. Her great-great grandfather was an organist and violinist, and both her parents played piano. Carolyn began playing piano at the age of 5, and spent her childhood years playing and studying music, and it became her outlet and lifelong passion.

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Music Degree in Education from The State University of New York at Fredonia and a Master of Music Degree in Performance from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. Carolyn has served on the faculties of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania,  Mercyhurst University and Allegheny College and taught in their Music Preparatory programs.

Her professional experience as a qualified music educator and teacher includes a long tenure with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra and Erie Chamber Orchestra. She is a long-time member of Music Teachers National Association, the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association, and the Lancaster Music Teachers Association. In addition, Carolyn is a recognized “honor teacher” with the American College of Musicians/National Guild of Piano Teachers.

Carolyn’s main passion centers around teaching…both on the college level, and in her music studio. As a professional musician and music educator, Carolyn treats each student as a unique individual. Her goal is to establish a strong connection that nurtures each individual into their full musical potential. She teaches with heart, soul, discipline, focus and creativity that will lay a strong foundation for growth and personal enrichment for life!

Carolyn maintains the highest level of musical teaching, assuring her students are learning technical skills and music interpretation. Many of her students perform at studio recitals, in local schools, at colleges and churches, and have also performed with local and regional symphony orchestras. She has also had students perform and compete in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Lancaster Symphony, as well as throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Carolyn is regularly referred by former and current students, their parents, local music teachers, local college music professors and the musical associations and organizations through which she is affiliated and accredited.

Mission Statement

My mission is to provide the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and to nurture a musical spirit and enhance life skills within each individual, from a child learning an instrument for the first time, to an adult beginner who has always wanted to take music lessons. In addition, I also work with students who want to grow their skills and techniques to develop a greater musical talent and mastery that can lead to career opportunities and lifelong success and satisfaction within music.

Lessons are tailored to the skills and needs of each student, from an introductory level up through college, conservatory and symphony level preparation. Adults, children, home school students and parent teachers are welcome.
